The governments of Canada and Ontario are pleased to announce that the deadline for completing construction for Canada–Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund projects has been extended to October 31, 2010.
This measure allows municipalities that require more time to complete their COMRIF projects to apply for an extension. This extension does not include additional funding.
To ensure all projects can be brought to fruition, municipalities are being given the possibility of two additional construction seasons to complete their projects. The deadline for completing COMRIF projects has been extended to October 31, 2010. The deadline for submitting claims for eligible project expenses has been extended to December 31, 2010.
On July 7, 2008, a letter from the COMRIF Management Committee Co-chairs outlining the process, as well as the timelines was sent to municipalities.
